HVAC Cleaning in Toronto
The whole air side of your heating and cooling system cleaned on one visit: ducts, trunks, furnace blower, and the HRV, humidifier and dryer vent as add-ons. From $399.
HVAC cleaning means cleaning everything the air passes through, not just the ducts. That is the supply and return runs and the trunks, the furnace blower and filter slot, and the equipment attached to the system: the heat recovery ventilator, the humidifier, the dryer vent and the exhaust fans. We clean all of it on the same visit, with the same technicians and the truck-mounted vacuum.
What it doesn’t mean, from us, is servicing the furnace or the air conditioner. Burners, heat exchangers and refrigerant are a licensed HVAC contractor’s work. We are a CNADCA certified duct cleaning company (ID CA-00153), and we stay on the air side. The difference between the two jobs is worth five minutes before you book either.
The duct cleaning, blower included, is priced by home size from $399. The HRV, humidifier and dryer vent are $90 add-ons each, and with every three the lowest-priced one is free. See the full price list.
When to book an HVAC cleaning
A new-to-you home
You don't know what the previous owners did, or didn't do. One cleaning of the whole air side gives you a known starting point.
After a renovation or a new build
Drywall dust, sawdust and insulation fibres go into every part of the system, and the HRV and humidifier catch their share.
Allergies or asthma in the house
Dust, pet dander and pollen settle in the ducts, the blower and the HRV core, and are recirculated every time the system runs.
The system runs longer than it used to
A dusty blower and partly filled returns move less air, so heating and cooling cycles stretch. Cleaning the air side is the first thing to rule out.
An HRV that smells or sweats
A heat recovery ventilator's core and filters load up with dust and mould. Many have never been opened since the house was built.
Scale and film in the humidifier
A bypass humidifier's pad and tray collect mineral scale and biofilm. It sits in the supply air stream, so what grows there is distributed.
What an HVAC cleaning covers
Ducts, trunks, registers and returns
Every supply and return run air-washed back to the trunks with the truck-mounted vacuum connected, and the trunks brushed and blown out. The core of the job.
Furnace air side
The filter slot, the blower wheel and housing, and the cabinet base. Included, not an extra; the gas side is left to TSSA-registered contractors.
Heat recovery ventilator (add-on)
The HRV core, filters, fans, drain and grilles, cleaned on the same visit. A $90 add-on for a house.
Humidifier (add-on)
The pad, tray and housing of a furnace-mounted humidifier cleaned of scale and film. A $90 add-on.
Dryer vent and exhaust fans (add-ons)
The dryer vent from the machine to the outside wall, and the bathroom and laundry exhaust fans. $90 each as add-ons for a house; a condo includes the dryer vent and one bathroom fan.
Condo fan coil
In a suite the fan coil or wall unit takes the furnace's place: its cabinet, blower and filter slot are cleaned with the vents, for a flat fee.
Get your hvac cleaning price
Get the duct cleaning price by home size, then add the HRV, humidifier or dryer vent on the add-ons step. Every third add-on is free.

Our renovation contractor left a lot of debris in our HVAC ducts. Even with two prior duct cleaning services done by the other people, there was still a lot of dust and debris inside the ducts. Misha and Obeb from Air Force Shield spent two and a half hours removing all the dust and debris. They are nice and professional. We'd like to have them do the same job when needed.

Tayeb and Florian did a great job cleaning our ducts today. They showed up on time, were friendly and professional, and explained what they were doing as they went. They were thorough with every run and the furnace, and left the house as clean as they found it. They even sent before-and-after photos with the invoice so we could see the difference. Being in the HVAC business myself, I appreciate good work, and these two delivered. Highly recommend Air Force Shield and especially Tayeb and Florian!

We had Air Force Shield clean the ducts at my parents’ home and were very happy with the service. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional, and took the time to explain everything. They also showed me photos of the work they’d done and even replaced the furnace filter. A great experience overall. I’d happily recommend them!

HVAC Cleaning questions
Is HVAC cleaning the same as duct cleaning?
Duct cleaning is the main part of it. HVAC cleaning is the whole air side: the ducts and trunks, the furnace blower and filter slot, and the ventilation equipment that hangs off the system, such as the HRV, the humidifier and the dryer vent. We clean all of it on one visit.
Do you service the furnace or the air conditioner?
No. We clean the parts that air passes through. Burners, heat exchangers, gas valves, refrigerant and electrical work are for a licensed HVAC contractor, and in Ontario gas work must be done by a TSSA-registered contractor. If our inspection turns up something they should see, we'll tell you.
Do you clean the air conditioner's evaporator coil?
Ask when you book. Whether we can reach the coil depends on the furnace and how the coil is installed, so we confirm it on the call and give you the price then.
How much does HVAC cleaning cost in Toronto?
The duct cleaning, with the furnace blower included, is $399 for a house under 2,000 sq ft, up to $499 for 4,000 sq ft, before HST. Add-ons (HRV, humidifier, dryer vent, exhaust fans) are $90 each, and with every three booked the lowest-priced one is free. A condo is $399 flat.
How often should the system be cleaned?
Every three to five years for most homes, sooner with pets, allergies, a renovation or a long gap since the last one. HRV filters are a homeowner job every few months; the core is a cleaning every year or two.
How long does it take?
About an hour and a half for a house with one furnace, plus about twenty minutes for each add-on. A condo suite takes about 45 minutes.
